Before leaving
to the store they might spruce up a bit in case they run
into others. They may make a list before shopping but may
rely on memory for what they have in their cupboards or what
they create as they shop. When they arrive at the store they
like to greet or interact with others, whether it is a young
man collecting the shopping carts, the woman behind the
bakery counter, or another customer in the produce section.
If there are children outside of the store selling cookies
or candy it is hard for a Blue to resist their pleas.
When a food
vendor is offering samples, a Blue almost feels obligated to
stop, just as a way to validate and acknowledge the person
for being there. Especially if the vendor is standing all
alone, a Blue may feel a call to “rescue” them from their
solitude. Blues will be friendly and may strike up a small
conversation before sampling. “How are you today? Has
it been busy? Once they have made a personal connection with
the vendor they will taste the food. If they don’t happen to
like the food they may swallow it as to not hurt the
vendor’s feelings. If they like the item they may express
their feelings about the food, perhaps adding “mmmm”,
indicating it is delicious.
After
checkout, a Blue may feel uncomfortable looking over the
receipt right in front of the checker so they may wait until
they have gotten to their car. Only if there is a big
discrepancy will the Blue go back in the store to have it
corrected.
