A Gold may have a running inventory of what foods they have in the cupboards, pantry or refrigerator/freezer so they know at all times what they have in stock.  Before shopping they usually plan out meals for the week or even a month in advance, making lists of ingredients they will need to buy. Some Golds organize their lists according to isles so they know where to locate their favorite brands easily. They may clip coupons from various newspapers and magazines to use. 

When arriving at the store they shop directly from their list. If there is a food vendor offering samples, a Gold will first determine whether that particular item is on their list, or if it is something they would actually buy if they tasted it and liked it. They feel that the people are there for the purpose of selling their food item and it would not be appropriate to taste the item unless you are actually planning to purchase it. If they taste it and don’t like it, they may mention it in a polite way and thank the person. If they happen to like the item, they now feel obligated to buy it.

During the checkout process they are busy watching to make sure the items are scanned correctly for the right price and are given the advertised discounts.  Immediately after checkout they examine the receipt to make sure they weren’t charged inaccurately.  If they find a discrepancy they will point it out and have the checker make the appropriate adjustments.

After loading their car with the groceries they will put their cart back in the appropriate cart corral or walk it back up to the store front. When they arrive home they have an order and system for putting things away, grouping similar items together.
